Give Faith A Chance
A little bit of help is better than a lot of pity.
Fundraising in aid of Faith Dodds
Jarrow Vikings Rugby League Club is actively supporting the fundraising efforts of many people in Jarrow and Hebburn to help raise money for Faith Dodds.
Faith is the daughter of Michael and Kay and unfortunately at the age of only 6 months was diagnosed with Bilateral Optical Hypoplasia, which means that she will suffer severe visual impairment and has been registered legally blind.
Michael is the Bar Manager of the Clock Tavern, Hebburn, home of the Jarrow Vikings and is a key member of the Vikings support team.
Michael and Kay do not want pity, to them Faith is still their perfect little girl in every way. However the reality is that they have a long and difficult road ahead of them. Their friends from the Clock and all at Jarrow Vikings want to make sure that the worries they have ahead will not include financial ones.
We want to make sure that the equipment or home alterations needed to make life easier for Faith will be affordable.
A fundraising committee has been set up, with an account in Faiths name and trustees appointed to manage the donations and fundraising activities.
The long awaited "Hunks and Skunks" calendar to raise funds for Give Faith A Chance is now on sale and is available at The Clock Tavern.
A number of Jarrow Vikings players and supporters did a sponsored bungee jump on the 9th August, at the Clock Tavern. They are also looking to link the forthcoming North East Masters event at Luke's Lane Hebburn, to the fundraising activities, with all proceeds from raffles and sales going to the Faith Dodds account.
Anyone that would like to support the cause by donating prizes, money or support to the events please contact George Taylor on 07841 783998, any donations can be sent to: The Clock Tavern, Victoria Road East, Hebburn, NE31 1YQ.
Cheques should be made payable to: FAITH DODDS
